Andres T. Malinnag, Ed.D with Dr Isabel A. Astrero, Dr. Jaime Raras, Rico G. Gagto, and Mario Cantaoi

The paper reveals the imbedded culture of the Ilokanos from the various antique art forms hidden in the stones of Ilocos. The art forms studied are from the stones found in the municipalities of Sta. Maria, San Esteban, and Santiago, all in Ilocos Sur. The paper also presents a socio-economic profile of the present stone miners and carvers. Likewise, the entrepreneurial and business practices associated to the production and consumption of these stone carvings are also analyzed.
