A Strategy on the Development of Ilokano Literature and Positioning the GUMIL Writer in a Global Setting

The paper is an attempt to make an assessment of the literary works of award-winning Ilokano writers of GUMIL Filipinas, an association of more than three hundred writers in the Philippines and abroad. In making the assessment, it is necessary to draw up a profile  of these writers according to the literary genre they excel in. In coming up with this profile for each of them, it is necessary to put together a socio-demographic profile in order to establish trends and patterns that may be of special import to their craft and art.
